Magda Cebokli
—
Cebokli meticulously explores light and the structure of space with oscillating frameworks of pure geometry.
Born in Slovenia, Magda Cebokli has lived in Australia since she was a child. Prior to becoming an artist, she worked in both the clinical and research areas of psychology. Her interest in inner process and in the ways we make meaning connects her past career with her artistic practice.
Following art studies in New York and Hong Kong, she completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours in 1998 and a research MA in painting in 2001 at RMIT. She was awarded one of the inaugural Siemens Art Prizes in 2000 and has been shortlisted for numerous prizes since.
Working from her studio in Melbourne she exhibits regularly in solo and group shows in Australia and has shown overseas.
